To Oregon we did go...

ThermoFisher decided to include Good Friday as one of the paid holidays off for employees this year. So, since we had a nice long weekend (and Jon was able to take the following Monday off), we decided to drive to Oregon to visit John & Sarah. Alex & Elise couldn't wait to see Ali again and we were all excited to meet Andy for the first time! It was great to get to hold and play with him. He's a lot of fun!

We had so much fun on our visit to John & Sarah. We took Andy in the stroller to the common area by their house and had a lively game of T-ball. John was happy to get out his BBQ and grill up some chicken and hot dogs for all of us and the kids enjoyed watching Madagascar 2 with Ali.

It was Easter that weekend so the kids woke up Saturday to find we'd been visited by the Easter Bunny! Ali entertained Alex & Elise by putting her pants on her head. And then John, Jon, Alex, Elise & I drove to the Tillamook factory for a tour (and sampling...and ice cream of course) of their facility. Then we went to the beach. Alex & Elise had never seen the ocean before. Elise was absolutely fascinated by the waves. Unfortunately, a swell came in and she couldn't run quite fast enough, and fell in the waves. This was within the first 5 minutes we were there. Luckily, John had a blanket in his car so we wrapped her up and she was able to enjoy herself while Jon carried her around.

It was so great to get to visit with John & Sarah and their family for the weekend. We hadn't seen them for about a year & it was really fun getting to hang out with them (and have someone know exactly what we were talking about when we made a random Friends remark!). Alex & Elise still talk about "that time that Ali put her pants on her head." :D
