So, it finally stopped raining long enough for us to be able to put our sod down. Yay!
The company we bought the sod from called us the day we were supposed to pick it up and told us the forklift they use to put the pallets on the trailer broke and we'd have to load it ourselves. They compensated us with an extra 150 sqft of grass. So that was nice. But still...that was the hardest work I've ever done. Who knew grass was so heavy!
We got the family together to help us lay the sod in the backyard. It wasn't easy getting around our path stones.

Our friends Greg and MacKenzie Johnson came with their kids to help, too. Alex and Elise had a fun time "helping get rid of the rocks" with Kinley and Gavin. Mostly they played in the dirt fill.
All done! We put down 1,850 sqft that night. We still have more spots that need grass, but we'll get to them later. It's nice that the kids have a place to run without Mommy being worried about them running out into the road.

After everyone left, we put out sprinklers to get the grass going. Alex and Elise had a lot of fun playing in the sprinkler.
